Short answer: neither. Order your true size. The instinct to size up for comfort or down for support is the single most common reason a good wireless bra ends up in the back of the drawer. Here is why, and how to know your true size in two minutes.
Why sizing up backfires
A bigger band feels gentler in the first five minutes and fails by mid morning. With nothing to anchor against, the band rides up your back, the front drops, and the straps take over, digging into your shoulders. In a wireless bra the band matters even more, because it is the foundation the support core works from.
Why sizing down backfires
A smaller size does not add support, it adds compression in the wrong places. The band digs at the ribs, the cups overflow at the sides and top, and the smooth line you wanted turns into bulges the bra itself created. If digging is your current complaint, our guide to bras that do not dig in breaks down every cause.
The two minute true-size check
Measure snugly under your bust for the band number. Measure around the fullest part of your bust, and the difference between the two gives your cup. Then confirm on the body: the band sits level and snug on the loosest hook, the cups contain everything with no gap and no spillover, and two fingers slide under the band with light resistance. That is your size, and it is the size to order.
When between sizes in a wireless bra
Stretch fabrics in wireless designs are forgiving, so when you sit exactly between sizes, take the smaller band if you want maximum support and the larger if comfort is the priority. Better yet, buy where exchanges are free and let your body decide.
